Event description

Description

Celebrated garden designer and star of BBC Radio 4’s Gardeners’ Question Time Bunny Guinness will be talking exclusively at the beautiful Braxted Park Estate on Tuesday the 11th June 2019, as part of the National Garden Scheme (NGS) Open Garden Day.

Bunny Guinness will be giving a talk at 12 noon during the NGS Open Day in support of Horatio’s Garden, which will cost £15.00 to attend. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Bunny will be sharing her thoughtful insights into a world behind the scenes of TV, radio and of course her gardens!

The garden is open from 10:00 – 16:00, with admission costing £6.00 to the National Garden Scheme charities. Braxted Park is a private estate and therefore is not normally open to the public, so the NGS event represents a rare chance to take a closer look at this beautiful garden.

Light lunches, refreshments and afternoon teas will be available for visitors to enjoy in the Walled Garden Pavilion during the day. There will be plants, local crafts and Horatio’s Garden beautiful merchandise available to purchase.

The National Garden Scheme gives large donations each year to health related charities from the profits of the open gardens. Horatio’s Garden has been a beneficiary of generous grants from the NGS towards the Stoke Mandeville and Oswestry Gardens. Visiting a National Garden Scheme garden helps to change lives.

We are most grateful to Duncan and Nicky Clarke of Braxted Park, along with their fantastic team, for their generosity and support of the charity and the National Garden Scheme.

Braxted Park, Grade II* park of “exceptional significance” is again opening its gardens for the NGS. Meander around the parkland’s ponds, lakes and walled gardens. Experience the execution of the 10-year Parkland Restoration Management Plan. Enter walled garden ‘rooms’ through long Wisteria broad walk and admire Mulberry parasol trees, unique to Braxted. Head Gardener, Andrea Cooper will be on hand to answer questions and guided tours for a further donation of £5pp payable upon the day.
