Event description

Description

Courting Stiles Burbage

A twilight walk at Courting Stiles to listen to birdsong and watch bats.

Courting Stiles has a wide variety of habitats and species in a small area. On spring and summer days it is a good place to see butterflies, wild flowers and tree blossom.

We'll walk a circular route along the paths in the area between the railway line and Brookside, through woods, open grass areas and the edge of Sketchley Brook and the flood relief basin. As well as hearing the dusk bird song we will look for bats flying and perhaps trap a few moths. The walk is about 1 mile and has a few rough patches which can be muddy after rain.

This walk is suitable for all ages. Children are welcome, accompanied by an adult.

Meet in the lane between Bridge Road in Burbage and Hinckley railway station.

Please bring a torch if you have one.
