Inaugural lecture by Karen Johnston, Professor of Organisational Studies, University of Portsmouth

In an era of global uncertainty with changing political landscapes, the lecture examines the role of public bureaucracies in promoting equality, democracy and good governance. The lecture provides a research journey and critical perspective of public sector organisations and argues for the need to advance the research on representation and providing citizens with a voice in the co-governance of public services.
