Thistlestop Tours is the new tour company set up by the Thistle Street Bar so we can share the history of Edinburgh to visitors (and locals) who would like to know more.

What makes this tour different from others on the same subject?

Accepted Answer

There are many myths surrounding the case. Our tour, based on meticulous research, will dispel many of these myths and bring you the true story of what actually happened while being respectful to the victims.

Question 3

How will I hear the tour guide above the noisy traffic?

Accepted Answer

Each guest is given a set of headphones and a receiver so they can hear our guide clearly without the distractions of external noise.

Question 4

Will the tour be cancelled because of bad weather?

Accepted Answer

No. In Edinburgh, there's no such thing as bad weather...just the wrong clothing! So make sure you dress appropriately which includes comfortable footwear to cope with the cobbled streets of the Old Town.

Question 5

Will there be jump scares along the way?

Accepted Answer

No. This is a historic tour of a very dark nature designed to paint a picture of early 19th century Edinburgh...warts and all, so we don't include gimmicks or jump scares.

If I can't make it, will I get a refund on my ticket?

Accepted Answer

Refunds will be offered on a case by case basis up to four days before the tour date. Simply email welcome@thistlestoptours.co.uk for our consideration.
