Event description
Bagpipe procession through Battersea Park with lanterns and hot toddies, followed by a delicious five-course Burns Night Supper!

About this Event

“Some hae meat an canna eat,

And some wad eat that want it;

But we hae meat, and we can eat,

And sae the Lord be thankit”

Selkirk Grace

Battersea Park will be filled with the sound of traditional Scottish bagpipes, as guests gather for a lantern-led procession through the park to Pear Tree Cafe, with warming hot toddies in their hands.

With beautiful views across the boating lake, Pear Tree Cafe are hosting a traditional candlelit Burns Night supper, including traditional bagpipes and the Address to a Haggis.

Guests will be met at the Chelsea Gate car park and presented with a warming hot toddy to keep them snug on their walk amongst the towering trees, as they are escorted to Pear Tree Cafe by a lantern-led bagpipe procession.

The cafe will be decked out in tartan, with thistles adorning the tables. Once inside the cosy space, an exceptional five course Scottish feast will begin.

Diners will start with warm, soft bannock bread and Jersey butter followed by Scottish smoked salmon with a horseradish crème fraiche and lemon, then Hebridean scallop with Stornoway black pudding, frisée and a pancetta crisp. No Burns Night supper is complete without the customary haggis! Pear Tree Cafe will be serving Macsween haggis with mashed neeps and tatties, a whiskey sauce and buttered sprout tops, whilst the traditional piping is played and the address to a haggis is recited. To round off the feast, a creamy Cranachan will follow with raspberries, heather honey, James Eadie’s Scotch and toasted oats, and to finish some Scottish tablet, as Auld Lang Syne is sung to end the highland harrar.

Let Pear Tree Cafe transport you from the paths of Battersea Park to the moors of Scotland and the wee burns of the highlands.
