Booking requests become visible 6 weeks before and are removed 2 weeks before an available party date.
Bushcraft Parties for children comprise the following:
Arrival and site introduction (consent forms, rules, toilets).
Ice breakers so everyone can get used to instructors.
Skills session 1, normally age appropriate shelter building and construction of other things.
Break for hot chocolate and marshmallows.
Skills session 2, normally fire building using various age appropriate methods.
30 minutes from collection time we cook bushwhacker pizza (wraps with a tomato soup base sauce and cheese). Cake and party bags should be brought to the reception pod location at this time.
Can I bring more than 11 guests?
Absolutely! Extra guests cost £8.00 including VAT each. Just tell us how many invitations you require at booking.
What happens next?
Complete the online booking request answering all questions. This triggers staff allocation, invitation production and invoice production. Should you require a date change we can administer that once free of charge but subsequent changes will incur an adminstrative charge. In the next week you will receive your invitation pack with the number of invitations requested.
Do I need to advise you of guests?
We ask you to confirm your guest list in the preceding week. This finalises staffing and insurance and catering.
We produce an invitation which is used to capture pertinent information from your guests. You must hand us the back page for every guest at the beginning of the party.
We will start and end on time but there will usually be a member of staff left to deal with late arrivals although on occasions we might ask parents to do this if the time drags out.
We advise that long sleeves, long trousers and boots or wellies are worn all year along with seasonal adjustments such as sun hats and wet weather clothing. We have long grasses, spikey bushes and there is a possibility of ticks.
What do we provide?
- Instruction and supervision.
- Unlimited access to cold drinks.
- Hot chocolate and marshmallows.
- A hot snack cooked by the party goers. First Aid / Medical care for any who have notified us or are injured in the course of the party.
- First Aid / Medical care for any who have notified us or are injured in the course of the party.
- An album of party pictures for you to share with the parents of your guests.
Do parents need to stay?
There is no requirement for adults to accompany the guests, and our preference is that they don't, but parents of the party person may remain on site and participate, or return half an hour before the end for cooking and cakes. Most parents don't stay, hence the photographs. Each invitation has a voucher for a discount at Walk Mill cafe which is close.
Broomheath Plantation Bushcraft and Forest School staff reserve the right to eject any participant who is found to be wilfully disobedient as this will adversely effect the safety of other participants and also we reserve right to refuse entry to any person who has previously been ejected.
Any other questions?
Please feel free to contact us no matter how trivial the question seems. We might not have thought of it and might have to make changes to accommodate.
