Bushcraft Parties for children comprise the following:
Arrival and site introduction (consent forms, rules, toilets).
Ice breakers so everyone can get used to instructors.
Skills session 1, normally age appropriate shelter building and construction of other things.
Break for hot chocolate and marshmallows.
Skills session 2, normally fire building using various age appropriate methods.
30 minutes from collection time we cook bushwhacker pizza (wraps with a tomato soup base sauce and cheese). Cake and party bags should be brought to the cooking location at this time.
What am I paying for when I book online?
You are paying a non-refundable deposit and a booking fee which secures the time slot, triggers staff allocation and triggers invitation production. Should you require a date change it is as simple as rebooking the new date and starting the process again.
The balance can be paid on the day by cash or cheque or by BACS prior to the party using:
09-01-50 06801587 and your surname as the reference.
Can I bring more than 11 guests?
Absolutely! Each guest over the first 11 is charged at a per head rate. The balance will be adjusted accordingly and you will be advised.
Your party price is £165.78 for the party person + 11 guests. In the event of a shared party second and subsequent party people will be counted as one of the 11 guests. Each extra guest will be charged at £8.00.
Do I pay for booked guests or those that turn up?
We ask you to confirm your guest list in the preceding week. This finalises staffing and insurance and forms the base of the balance payment. You pay for those on the guest list or however many turn up which ever is the greater..
We produce an invitation which is used to capture pertinent information from your guests. You must hand us the back page for every guest prior to the party.
We will start and end on time but there will usually be a member of staff left to deal with late arrivals although on occasions we might ask parents to do this if the time drags out.
We advise that long sleeves, long trousers and boots or wellies are worn all year along with seasonal adjustments such as sun hats and wet weather clothing. We have long grasses, spikey bushes and there is a possibility of ticks.
Booking opens 42 days before the weekend of a party and closes 14 days before the weekend to allow us to manage our staff and interaction with other bushcraft courses.
What do you provide?
- Instruction and supervision.
- First Aid / Medical care for any who have notified us or are injured in the course of the party.
- Unlimited access to cold drinks.
- Hot chocolate and marshmallows.
- A hot snack cooked by the party goers.
- A slide show of party pictures for you to share with the parents of your guests.
There is no requirement for adults to accompany the children but parents of the party person may remain on site and participate.
Car parking is available for 45 cars and we have a 1.2Km perimeter for dog walkers. Dogs are not allowed in the 20 acre setting used for teaching and parties.
In the next week you will receive your invitation pack with the number of invitations requested and an invoice advice which will be corrected and finalised on the day to reflect actual attendance. The week before the party you will need to notify us of the full names of all invited guests to email@example.com
Broomheath Plantation Bushcraft and Forest School staff reserve the right to eject any participant who is found to be wilfully disobedient as this will adversely effect the safety of other participants and also we reserve right to refuse entry to any person who has previously been ejected.
