How one coffee can change a life? How a social enterprise empowers disadvantaged people with skills and creates values in people's life?

About this event

How much do you like coffee? Do you like to go to cafes, or do you enjoy making coffee by yourself? There are thousands of coffee making methods, million types of coffee beans. From planting, harvesting cherries …. to roasting, grinding, and brewing coffee. It takes at least ten steps to see and drink a nice coffee. The taste can be changed because of many different reasons, these resemble our life, like how we are grown up, or being raised by parents to become adults. However, have you ever thought about how a small coffee bean could change a person’s life?

SPEAKERS

We’ve invited Vivian Chiu who is a missionary from WEC International. She focused on leadership training and mentorship of young adults in Hong Kong. For the past few years, she was being a refugee worker in the Middle East where there was an earthquake. Vivian is now serving for “Coffee & Life” as a mentor in Manchester, they hope it can empower disadvantaged people with skills and Christian values of life.

PROGRAMME

Vivian will give an introduction on Business As. Missions (BAM), especially focusing on Coffee & Life. She will share about how this life changing course benefits young adults, who are looking for their life purpose and calling. It is also about how coffee can help us understand God’s creation, improve people's working attitude and discipleship journey. Vivian will also show us some hand brewing coffee skills.
