So you've got an idea, but how do you launch it? Come and hear top tips on how to make your idea a reality

About this event

You’ve got an idea for a potential business. The next step is to turn it into a real business. This online workshop will help you to understand this crucial steps... and how to take it!

This session is part 3 of 3 in our Business Basics series of events to help you take 3 important steps on your journey to starting a business or working for yourself. You're welcome to join if you missed the other sessions.

If you have an idea, or a new business, join us every Wednesday at 1pm (13th – 27th October) to explore the core concepts of setting up and running a business. Hosted by LSBU Student Enterprise with Permjot Valia, LSBU Entrepreneur in Residence, pitch trainer and worldwide business advisor; each session builds on the one before, but can be attended independently.

Permjot Valia is the founder and CEO of Mentorcamp, co-founder of Flight & Partners Ltd and the Executive Director of Innovacorp's MentorConnect. He's a go-to pitch trainer and advisor to numerous businesses throughout the world. He is also an Angel investor, having invested in over 30 start-ups in four countries. As one of LSBU's Entrepreneurs in Residence he also supports students and graduates looking to start their own businesses.

*What is the Certificate in Enterprise?

LSBU students and alumni can obtain a Certificate in Enterprise by taking part in six Student Enterprise activities throughout the academic year. Please keep a record of online events attended to help you to keep track of the events you’ve attended.

What support is available to students who wish to start a business at LSBU?

We offer exciting workshops, start-up programmes led by inspirational speakers and competitions to help you to get your business off to the best possible start, and keep it going.

I am not a Student or Alumni of LSBU. Can I still attend the event?

Yes, our events are open to members of the public. All we ask is that you come with the willingness to learn something new and an entrepreneurial mind-set. Please register under the 'Other' category.

How will my data be used?

We have a statutory obligation to report the number of events attendees to HESA on an annual basis through the HECBI Survey and to prepare internal reports on engagement in enterprise activities.
