We’re honoured that The Royal Docks Team are delighted to welcome the NCC to its new spiritual home at Compressor House, in the heart of the Royal Docks.
Originally built in 1914, Compressor House served as a cold storage warehouse for Royal Docks cargo. This locally listed building features distinctive red brickwork and an industrial interior, making it an architectural gem and soon to become a unique digital, cultural and commercial workspace in Newham’s Royal Albert Dock.
The Royal Docks Team will present an overview of its visionary programme using its rather cool 8-meter long scale model to tell the story of the past, present and future for the area with 36,000 new homes and 55,000 new jobs coming over the coming years.
We will also hear about Royal Docks Originals – a free arts festival coming to the area late this summer and created by artists, creatives, and communities from across the Royal Docks.
Newham is the beating heart of London’s cultural economy and home to some of the UK’s most ambitious and dynamic cultural regeneration and creative enterprises ensuring the Royal Docks are fast becoming London’s Cultural Engine… and we’re really please that your Chamber is fast becoming the fuel that helps fire the local machinery!
