Event description

Description

Issues related to waste have been rising on the agenda, with increasing concerns about climate change highlighting the need for us to make the most out of our resources, waste as little as possible, and use the waste we do produce in the best possible way.

Bristol's City Centre Business Improvement District (BID), with support from Bristol Green Capital Partnership, is offering businesses the opportunity to learn about likely changes to UK legislation around waste, the important role business can play in tackling waste issues, and the benefits this can bring to the city and business.

This will include highlighting some Bristol initiatives that can help businesses change how they deal with waste and comply with the expected changes in legislation, such as Going for Gold - Bristol’s bid to be a Gold Sustainable Food City, City to Sea’s work around plastics, and Veolia’s approach to waste and recycling.

The Business Breakfast on 7th August is open to all levy payers in the city centre BID area and will include an opportunity for networking and a Q&A. Breakfast will be provided and it’s free to attend, but spaces are limited so reserve your spot soon!

Programme:
7.45am: Arrive, breakfast and drinks available, networking
8.00am: Short presentations including from Eunomia, City to Sea, Veolia and Resource Futures
8.40am: Q&A and wrap-up
9.00am: Networking until 9.30am
