Event description

Description

A ten week workshop designed to teach you how to run your own Sprints by using the actual tools & techniques needed, all in the comfort of your own home.

Sprints can improve your speed of delivery and kickstart necessary innovation within your business. Find out when to use the framework, what type of projects it is suitable for and witness 'what it looks like.' Learn how you can innovate with the framework in a virtual context, from business design consultant and remote advocate Ross Chapman.

This workshop is for you if:

  • You're in a distributed or remote team
  • You want to learn how to faciliate and lead a team in a very accessible way
  • You find that your team spends too much time discussing and too little time deciding
  • You want to learn techniques on how to gain alignment within your team
  • You were excited by the Jake Knapp’s ‘Sprint’ book
  • Discovery phases and kick-offs seem unstructured, long and not rigourous enough

What you'll learn:

  • How to run a Problem Framing workshop
  • How to conduct a Brand Sprint
  • Understand and do the key activities from the Product Design Sprint
  • Hands-ons exercises around a scenario
  • Why Sprint, what is it good for and what are the principles?
  • Learn the tips and tricks used to deliver successful Sprints
  • How to prototype a product in Figma
  • Have a turn in user testing
  • How to sell in the Design Sprint into your business
  • To understand what happens after the Design Sprint
  • Facilitation tips on getting the most out of a team while not working them hard

You don't need to be a designer to benefit from this event. In the Sprint, teams can include people across the whole business including product managers, CEOs, developers, team leaders and marketers. Everyone offers a unique perspective and can all help to proactively solve the critical business problem.

What previous workshop attendees have said:

"It was very different from what we expected in the sense that it addressed other areas of the business, not just the product."

- Kurt Henderson, Nava

"I found it so effective to do [learning the Design Sprint] as I learn with activity and it helped embed learning as I went. It was proper learning, rather than training!"

- Attendee, Quilter
