Business Essentials for New Businesses

This one-day workshop is a must for those individuals who are close to, or who have recently started their business. This forms part of our Starting in Business programme and is a follow on from our 3 hour Starting in Business workshop.

This is a practical workshop which will provide you with the essential tools and information you need to set up and run your new business.

During the day, we will explore key topics such as:

• Planning your business
• Understanding your customers
• Marketing your business  
• Creating the right image
• Planning the numbers
• How to keep adequate financial records
• Tax issues for start ups
• Action planning & next steps

The workshop is being run by Dr Emma Smith who runs her own business and has a number of years experience of advising individuals and to start and run successful business.

There will be an opportuntity to have your marketing materials reviewed during the day if you have reached the stage where this would be useful.

The workshop includes a mix of teaching and working on your own business assisted by business advisers.
