A former Senior Business Manager with a leading High Street Bank Garry has over 25 years’ experience of providing lending to SME Businesses and is Head of Investment at the Key Fund.
Based in Sheffield, Key Fund is the UK’s biggest regional investor in the social economy that covers the North of England. As a social enterprise it is itself a social economy success story operating a loan fund where all of the returns received to the Key Fund are reinvested back into the sector.
Often lending without the comfort of asset backed security Key Fund offers loans to organisations that can’t access funds from conventional lenders. Relying instead on a thorough understanding of their clients needs in an enterprising cause and always with a truly social mission embedded at the heart of operations.
In pursuing its mission Key Fund believes that Business for Good is Good for Business – a belief that the future growth and potential for organisations wishing to deliver social impact is not only to be found in the realms of social enterprise but also in the broader arena that is less to do with legal definition and more about what a business does, the way that it does it and the difference it makes.
Book early as places are limited. (5pm for a 5:30pm start).
The Halifax Courier and BFC are also inviting attendees to join them at 53° North opposite the New Courier offices after the guest speakers have finished; you will receive a complimentary drink in return for handing over your business card at the bar.

In this impressive 19th century building, our bar boasts a sophisticated symphony of high vaulted ceilings, draping plush fabrics and a spectacular back-lit glass bricked bar, as well as a stunning outdoor garden and terrace.
Our bartenders are experts in the craft of the cocktail; utilising premium and speciality spirits, homemade cordials and infusions, bespoke glassware and seemingly boundless imagination to create new concoctions or reinvent old classics.
