About this event

Are you a business in West London? Do you want to do something good for your business, employees, your community and the Environment? Then we’re pleased to invite you to our upcoming get-together designed to strengthen business engagement in the green spaces and parks along the River Crane in West London, as part of the Smart Water Catchment initiative for 2024/25.

Why Attend?

This informal after-work gathering is an excellent opportunity to:

  • Gain insights into the Smart Water Catchment initiative and explore how your business can get involved.
  • Connect with local environmental groups, stakeholders, and volunteering organisations (Habitats & Heritage, TCV - The Conservation Volunteers, London Wildlife Trust, Lampton Services, Gurseva, FORCE, Sunshine of Hounslow, and more).
  • Discover corporate volunteering opportunities and innovative green initiatives (eg. volunteering days; employee wellbeing; eco-friendly challenges; environmental education workshops; green team formation; local species adoption; nature photography contest; lunch & learn sessions; green sponsorship; or tailored and/or ad-hoc programmes and events).
  • Build relationships and connect with likeminded organisations.
  • Generate sustainability-oriented content for your Social Media channels.

What to Expect:

  • Informal networking: Enjoy drinks and casual conversations with fellow attendees.
  • Road-show format: Local organisations will showcase their corporate volunteering opportunities to you.
  • Refreshments: Sip and snack as you connect with others.

Our local organisations partners have decades of experience delivering corporate volunteering. Comulatively they have worked with companies and institutions such as OVO Energy, London GLA, Microsoft, and many more.

RSVP: Walk-ins are welcome, but we kindly encourage RSVPs for better planning.

Drinks and nibbles will be served (including vegan options).

Don’t miss this chance to network with like-minded organizations, make a difference, and enjoy an evening of inspiration by the river!

The Crane Smarter Water Catchment approach is being piloted by Thames Water, the Crane Valley Partnership and other key stakeholders as a collaborative way of addressing the challenges and opportunities that the rivers and green spaces face. The Crane is the first urban river system in the Thames region to be considered in this way. We are working in partnership with the community to improve the Crane Valley in London Boroughs of Harrow, Ealing, Hillingdon, Hounslow and Richmond.

The engagement of businesses in the Crane Valley is crucial for allowing the Crane Valley Partnership (CVP) to fully achieve its objectives of restoring the River Crane catchment area. Businesses play a pivotal role in environmental sustainability and community development, providing essential resources, expertise, and funding necessary for successful conservation efforts and habitat restoration projects. Additionally, businesses operating within the catchment area have a vested interest in maintaining environmental health, as it directly impacts their operations, employees, and customers.
