Business Knowledge Network 29th March 2017
Wed 29 March 2017, 17:30 – 19:30 BST
Part of the Business Knowledge Network series of events, this month we are excited to partner with the University of Chichester Business School, for the Public Lecture of Prof. Dave Cooper. The talk will last approx. 45 minutes, with plenty of opportunity for networking.
As ever, there will be plenty of tea, coffee and cake.
"Many SMEs lack resources for external engagement and the quality of support available from the local university is key. Larger universities do contribute to this agenda but many are driven by a strong research agenda and their focus is typically on working with larger companies on a national and international scale. They are not particularly accessible to smaller firms who may be put off by the sheer scale of larger institutions, do not know what a university can offer or how to access that offer.
This presentation discusses the impact that a university can have on the regional economy in which it operates and argues that smaller universities are best able to meet local needs. They are less intimidating, more agile and sufficiently flexible to meet diverse SME requirements.
The discussion is presented within the context of the development of the University of Chichester and the role it has played in the growth of the Coastal West Sussex economy and increasingly beyond."
We look forward to seeing you there.
