Description

What we cover

Our core practices are Commercial law, Intellectual Property, Corporate and Employment law. We run drop in sessions for each - please check our other listed events.

Commercial/IT law

We draft, advise on and negotiate, all manner of commercial contracts.

The Commercial/IT law team advise both start up and established businesses, so whether you’re just starting a website or an app, you’re an independent developer or established digital agency, a software or platform provider (or anything in between), we can provide you with the required advice and documentation needed for all aspects of your business, including your agreements/terms and conditions with customers, suppliers, partners and resellers.

Although we specialise in IT matters, the team also has very extensive and specific expertise in other industry sectors, including retail, interactive entertainment and consumer goods, as well as providing businesses with advice on GDPR compliance and implementation.

Who are we?

Waterfront is a specialist “Technology” law firm. Core practices are Commercial IT, Intellectual Property, Corporate and Employment law.

We act for a number of blue-chip clients and hundreds of technology companies - out pricing structure means we are also able to provide expert services to SMEs & start ups.
Drafting, negotiating and advising on technology commercial contracts makes up a large proportion of the team’s work.

A key focus is on providing advice to SME businesses and in particular those selling IT products and services, cloud based services and complex systems integration and managed services to much larger organisations. The firm prides itself on “levelling the playing field” for clients in this situation, enabling them to conduct their businesses within robust contractual frameworks.

We regually negotiate against multinational and major blue chip organisations, including many in the financial services sector. We also negotiate with a number of household brands in a variety of other industries and organisations in the public sector.

What will the session entail?

We provide 20 minute slots throughout the afternoon to talk through your matter with a solicitor who will be able to explain what steps you need to take and what the process may involve. If the matter is not something we can assist with directly, we will recommend someone who can. If the matter is something we can assist with we can explain how our fees work and give an estimation of the cost. You are of course under no obligation to commit to working with Waterfront.

What to bring?

We will not have time to fully review documents. If you have relevant contracts/communications to hand, and they will be required to explain your enquiry, do bring them with you.
