About this event
We are excited to be hosting our next Business Netwalking event on Tuesday 18th November. Open to all Dudley borough businesses, this event provides an opportunity to build valuable business connections whilst enjoying a lovely walk and talk around the stunning local countryside.
Join us as we take a leisurely walk of 2 miles, through the beautiful scenery of Warrens Hall Nature Reserve Black Country Geosite and Bumble Hole Nature Reserves, in the heart of the Black Country. A landscape that is totally different now from what it used to be. Once a hive of industry, where smoke belched out of boiler factories and steam trains and where there was a cacophony of noise from machinery and quarries, with a steady "bum-hul" as they toiled away.
To help us take time out from our busy day to switch off and tune out, Sarah Boxer from Healthy Mind and Soul will take us on a short guided meditation, allowing our minds to quieten and calm. We will then take a gentle decline down to Netherton Canal Tunnel. Which was the last tunnel to be built in the canal age and is 2.4 miles long, would you dare to take a walk all the way through? Will you spot the "toccy" bricks? We'll explore how Bumble Hole got its name and take in Windmill End Junction and Cobb's Engine House, now a Scheduled Ancient Monument and find out how a little bit of Netherton history made its way to the Ford Museum in the US!
There will be tea and cake halfway through the walk.
Walking boots or sturdy trainers are recommended as it may be muddy in places after rain.
Our circular walk will be lead by the local BGWM in Dudley Business Adviser team
