Description
Innovative Healthcare & Drug Discovery Business Plan Session
Presenters include researchers and directors of small companies and start-ups who are looking for impartial advice in order to launch or grow their business or commercialise their work. We welcome you to present your valuable ideas and aspirations to develop a world leading product or service.
If you are interested, we'll ask you to give a 1 minute pitch about their idea or a 5 minute slide presentation covering, for example, your unique edge, market leading position, team/partners, type of intellectual property, business strategy, products/services to be developed, investment needed, equity on offer, and timeframe for delivery and exit.
You'll be asked to submit a short summary beforehand to Giles@sciencecapital.co.uk to help prepare the panel of experts, including any particular issues you'd like input on.
Format
Each presenter or team meets individually with a panel of 4-6 selected advisors for a friendly and supportive round table discussion, giving a short presentation followed by feedback. Pro bono support is offered to successful presenters by entrepreneurs and companies including FD Solutions, HGF, Quarto Perspective and Wragge & Co.
A projector and computer are provided. Presenters are given the option of a short video-taped interview at the meeting venue to get their message across. A nondisclosure agreement will be provided upon request.
After the business plan session a reception will be held followed by series of talks and panel discussed followed by food, drinks and networking. Reserve your tickets for this here.
Goal
The panel provides detailed advice to individuals, start-ups and SMEs who may have intellectual property and initial funding for commercial development, or just a brilliant idea that would benefit from expert guidance and connections at a vulnerable stage of translation into a global solution to a major challenge.

Feedback from presenters
"Science Capital creates a much-needed conduit between academia and business, a unique and much-needed bridge between the two as well as facilitating expert advice for both. This model needs to be extended and replicated if the UK truly wishes to have an economy driven by innovation and technology. Do we want the UK to be a global player or spectator? It is initiatives such as Science Capital that will make the difference."
"It was a pleasure to be involved in such a slick and polished event, I rather enjoyed the whole thing from VC pitch, through filming, evening discourse and networking."
"It helped me immensely in judging audience and will inform future VC pitching approaches. You have directly helped me improve my offer to market whilst at the same time generating networking and awareness of my product, I cannot recommend the event highly enough."
