BIM for Architects: Part 1 Business Fundementals


Do you see BIM as an important business skill that can enhance your revenue? The first seminar in a two part series on BIM will investigate the implications and value proposition of adopting BIM within your practice, whatever its size.

Structured on Sections 1 and 2 of the BIM Learning Outcomes Framework, in the first seminar you will:

  • Be given a clear understanding of what BIM is
  • Learn the many benefits of adopting BIM in your practice 
  • Gain knowledge on the contextual requirement for BIM Level 2 and its connection to the Government Construction Strategy & Industrial Strategy 2025

BIM for Architects: Part 2 Information Exchanges Through the Work Stages


Do you see BIM as an important business skill that can enhance your revenue? The second seminar in a two part series on BIM will highlight the ways BIM can be incorporated into every stage of the RIBA plan of work, transforming the efficiency of your practice, whatever its size.

Structured on Section 3 of the BIM Learning Outcomes Framework, you will gain a clear understanding of the requirements for the management and exchange of information between supply chain members and clients as described in the RIBA Plan of Works and suite of industry standards.

Speakers:

Casey Rutland, Associate Director, Arup

Casey Rutland joined Arup Associates in November 2012 as an experienced Architect charged with leading the company’s ambition to become one of the top BIM-enabled global companies. Throughout Arup Associates and the wider Arup group, Casey’s focus is on driving better design through the use of the digital tools and technology available.

Casey has 15 years of architectural experience in project winning, running and delivery; he brings with him considerable knowledge of hotel, sports, commercial and retail sectors in both new build, refurbishment and conservation situations. More recently, his past 9 years of experience have been in delivering design solutions in a BIM environment. Casey holds a respected position within the Global BIM community and is often invited to speak at international conferences as well as guest lecturing at The Bartlett School of Architecture, The University of Middlesex and The university of Westminster.
