About this event

This course introduces storytelling as a powerful business tool. Using proven strategies and methodologies, your team will develop the creativity, confidence and skills to enable their messages to truly stand out.

People are more likely to buy into an organisation when they engage with a compelling, memorable, authentic message. But this can be one of the hardest things to do! As humans we are hardwired to listen and connect through stories. This workshop will move your team away from ‘information provision’ and open up their ability to connect with people on any issue.

This Masterclass will be delivered via Zoom and have four sessions running on the:

  • 1st June, 09:30 - 11:30
  • 1st June, 14:30 - 16:30
  • 3rd June, 09:30 - 11:30
  • 3rd June, 14:30 - 16:30

Our highly practical approach, developed in conjunction with AB15, enables people to quickly develop a powerful way to talk about ideas. We also build a community of storytellers, creating a rich source of feedback and learning.

The Strategy & Science of Storytelling

In our first module we will explore why we are hardwired to connect and listen through stories. Using examples from both individuals and brands you will begin to understand how to use this powerful tool to influence an audience.

The Importance of the Implication

Business storytelling isn’t about spinning a yarn, it’s about delivering a compelling and memorable message. We do this by focussing in on the implication of a story – the key takeaway for your audience.

Developing Stories

Whilst a good storyteller makes it look effortless there is actually a structure behind every good story. We share our structure with you and then explain how you can use your creative licence to play around with it for maximum impact.

Group Coaching

In our final module it is over to you! You’ll have the opportunity to try out a story you’ve developed and receive feedback from your fellow participants. This helps you put everything you’ve learned into practice and to start to understand how to critically appraise stories.

How To Guide

Once the modules are over we will send you out our How To Develop a Story guide which summarises all the content covered in the course, links to examples of great stories, and templates for you to use to develop your own stories.
