Event description

Description

How can we work together as a city to tackle the rising issue of homelessness?

With over 4000 people homeless across Manchester - 200 of those visibly rough sleeping - we have reached a crisis point, and as a community, require all the brains and brawn we can muster to support some of the most vulnerable in our society in finding safety and stability in their lives. Let's make Greater Manchester a region we're all proud to live and work in.

Alongside the work of Manchester Homelessness Partnership, social change consultancy Noisy Cricket will be exploring the systemic, cultural and personal issues contributing to the growing issues of homelessness and the impact its having at home and across the UK.

We'll be taking inspiration from those forward thinking businesses, charities and individuals already playing their part in tackling the social problem we all face, and begin to explore how we can work together as one city to make change happen, and now.

The event will run from 1-2pm, covering the root causes of homelessness and will reconvene after a half hour break at 2.30pm to explore the local impact of rising homelessness and the immediate and impactful ways businesses can support.

We'll also be hearing from Big Change, Street Support, the Manchester Homelessness Partnership and progressive businesses involved in the work to radicially reduce homelessness in the city.
