About this event

Hobbies • Books

Busy People Book Club is a low pressure short story discussion group, no expertise necessary! Just come along with an open mind and a willingness to discuss the reading.

There is probably around an hour's worth of reading to be done beforehand, but I'd always recommend to break this up by reading the stories at different times if you can.

Stories will be sent to you via email once you are booked on, if you'd prefer a printed copy let me know.

The bar in Baba Yaga's will be stocked with all the delicious drinks you could imagine, and I will provide nibbles.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to have experience with book clubs?

No, Busy People Book Club is open to everyone! Just bring an open mind and a willingness to talk about the stories.

How do I get the stories?

Once you’ve registered for a spot, I’ll email you pdfs of the stories. However, if you’d prefer a printed copy, I can provide this for a suggested donation of £1 to contribute to printing costs. Let me know if you need this.

Is the book club dog friendly?

Baba Yaga’s is dog friendly - so well behaved, quiet dogs are welcome to the book club.

Is this a reoccurring event?

Yes, I’ll be running The Busy People Book Club on the last Tuesday of every month from Baba Yaga’s Loft in North Shields.

How much reading will there be?

Around an hour’s worth of reading per session. This could be across 2-3 short stories, in which case I’d recommend that you read them at separate times rather than in one burst. Or on occasion we have done one long short story.
