About This Workshop

Aimed at parents and carers. This session includes choking, resuscitation, cardiac arrest, febrile seizures, burns, and more.

This workshop is organised by Busy Rascals and is held at The Queensbury Gastropub in Willesden Green NW2 4RS. Babies and children are welcome. However, if you are able to, it is recommended that childcare is arranged for older children so that you can focus on this practical and vital session. If not possible, we have some toys to play with but it is recommended that you also bring favourite toys and books to keep your little ones entertained. Mats will be down for babies to lie down on and we have toys available for the little ones to play with. Please note that this is a practical session and mannequins will be provided for practice. Handouts will also be given. However, you are encouraged to make notes and ask questions.

The money for this session goes towards ensuring that vital emergency first aid training continues in the community. There are different prices for this workshop. One set is for those wishing to cover Paediatric First Aid for Babies up to 1 yr old and another set for those wishing to cover Paediatric First Aid for Children aged over 12 months and over. The session is tailored to the ages of children those attending the session. We also run separate first aid sessions for children over 12 months old. About Busy Rascals

Set up in 2012, Busy Rascals is a community project set up and run by Sharmine Chowdhury-Tse, local mum of two. Based at The Queensbury Gastropub, Busy Rascals was set up in response to local parents asking Sharmine to organise local baby and children's activities for the local community following her successful weekly charity coffee tea social support morning which she set up in 2011 whilst pregnant with her oldest child. Busy Rascals aims to support parents and carers with their babies and children. We organise and host a variety of weekday and Saturday classes and activities. We are passionate about the physical and emotional wellbeing of children and their parents and supporting parents to make informed decisions and therefore host a variety of adhoc workshops to inform and empower parents about topics relating to parenting and caring for their children, such as Paediatric First Aid and Gentle Parenting. We also run adhoc events such as our own seasonal parties/ fairs (Winter, Annual celebration, Easter) for the local parent and carer community and their children. Many parents find it difficult returning to work after having children. 90% of the classes, activities, events and workshops we organise are run by parents to support them back into the workforce after having children.
