Hello and Welcome to Wind Down Friday,

Our next BWS GLASGOW CONNECTIONS LUNCH is on the 6th of September at the historic Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow on St Vincent Street, in Glasgow's City Centre. It is a wee gem in the heart of the city that you may not know about, steeped in years of history .

Meet and network with fellow business women in the grand surroundings where a lovely 2 course lunch will be provided wth a welcome drink.

BWS are delighted to welcome Professor Jackie Taylor, the first female President elected last year.

Guest speaker - Jackie Taylor, First female President of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Glasgow

Professor Jackie Taylor has taken up her new role as President of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow following her election by the College's membership in 2017.

Professor Jackie Taylor MB ChB, FRCP graduated from the University of Glasgow medical school, trained and dually accredited in General Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine and was appointed to her current consultant post in Glasgow Royal Infirmary in 1997. She is a working clinician with a sub-specialty interest in heart failure. From a managerial perspective, she has been Clinical Director, Associate Medical Director and Clinical Quality Lead for Geriatric Medicine.

Professor Taylor has a major interest in training and education of healthcare professionals. She is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer and was awarded an Honorary Professorship of University of Glasgow in 2018. She is immediate past Chair of the British Geriatrics Society Cardiovascular Section. Professor Taylor's other main professional roles have been as Vice President Medical and Honorary Secretary of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and became President in December 2018.

Professor Jackie Taylor will speak about her journey to her current role as President of The Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Glasgow.

Founding members set out to regulate and improve the standards of medicine, surgery and pharmacy in Glasgow and the West of Scotland. Today, the College has over 13,000 members internationally, and continues its mission to improve patient care around the world through education, training, and examination.
