Byres Community Hub Volunteers provide a friendly welcome to the public, set up and clear up refreshments, assist with tours, contribute to the discussions, network, help with evaluation and media consent forms, support people to engage with Glasgow’s Health Exhibition and navigate around the ground floor of Clarice Pears Building.
This volunteer role will give you the opportunity to be part of the University's civic mission, to engage with communities and organisations in the city and develop your communication skills through connecting the public with research and activities in the Hub.
Duties include:
- Welcoming members of the public to the Hub
- Encouraging engagement with Glasgow’s Health Exhibition
- Assisting with tours of the Clarice Pears building
- Setting up refreshments and materials for Hub Monday events
- Collection and administration of evaluation data including visitor numbers and surveys
- Distributing Hub promotional materials
- Supporting events in the Hub including Community Days
- Co-hosting stalls at local community events
Students can use their experiences towards achieving a MVLS Graduate Skills Award and/or SRC Volunteering Award.
