C-Card training for practitioners in Cheshire

About this event
This session is aimed at those individuals who already do face to face work with young people or want to expand their services to young people and wish to be trained to register and distribute free condoms through the Cheshire C-Smart Scheme.
During the session, your SEXSMART facilitator will help you:
• Understand the aims and objectives of the C-Smart Scheme
• Gain a thorough understanding of Fraser guidelines, child protection and the law including consent
• Learn the correct way to put on a condom
• Raise awareness of sexual health including STIs
• Increase knowledge of specialist sexual health services, and be able to signpost young people to them including home testing kits and clinical services
• Understand the C-Smart Scheme’s guidance and processes (registration, distribution, monitoring, stock ordering)
This training is for:
- 0-19 services
- Pharmacists
- wellbeing staff in schools and colleges
- Youth services
Including:
• Individuals who are new to the scheme
• Those wishing to offer the distribution of C-Smart products
• Existing C-Smart providers who require the updated training
This session is suitable for professionals 18 years and older and working in organisations with service users 13 to 18 years old. This session is FREE to professionals working in Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire East.
The session will be run using Zoom/Teams and consist of 90 min with breaks and the opportunity to submit questions using the 'chat' function. After the presentation there will be an opportunity for questions with the SEXSMART team including answering any questions submitted via 'chat' during the presentation.
Details of the meeting will be emailed out no later than 1.5 hours before the start of the session.
After the training, all practitioners wishing to deliver the scheme will be asked to complete a registration form with full work details including the delivery site for the scheme. Upon completion of this form all resources will then be allocated to practitioners ready to start delivery. If you work within a team you will be asked to provide a lead contact for your area or location.
