C-Card Training - THURROCK PROFESSIONALS ONLY

Join Brook’s free C-Card training for Thurrock professionals supporting young people with free condoms and advice.

About this training

This 1.5-hour session is an introductory training to the C-Card condom distribution scheme in Thurrock.
It is compulsory for all professionals and organisations who wish to distribute condoms as part of the Thurrock C-Card scheme.

The C-Card scheme, run locally by Brook, offers young people aged 13–24 in Thurrock the opportunity to register for a C-Card and access free condoms and lube from approved outlets.

This free training is open to professionals and organisations based in Thurrock only.
(Please note: your location and eligibility will be verified before attendance.)

Who should attend

This training is ideal for professionals working with young people in Thurrock, including:

• Youth workers
• Health and social care professionals
• Teachers and college staff
• Community and voluntary sector workers
• Any organisation wanting to become a registered C-Card outlet

Learning outcomes

By the end of this training, participants will:
✅ Understand how to identify risk and provide appropriate support or referrals
✅ Know how to apply confidentiality, the Fraser Guidelines, and safeguarding principles
✅ Gain awareness of sexual health, relationships, and links to emotional wellbeing
✅ Understand the law relating to sex and relationships
✅ Learn the correct way to deliver a condom demonstration
✅ Understand how the C-Card scheme and Therapy Audit database work
✅ Feel confident supporting young people aged 13–24 through the C-Card scheme
