About this event

About C-Scheme:

C-Scheme is a coordinated, multiagency, quality-driven FREE Condom Distribution network aimed to increase access to free condoms in the community. In Derbyshire and Derby City this service is available to anyone aged 13-24.

What is a C-Scheme Card?

A C-Scheme registration form is completed with/by the person (with 13-15 years olds / by 16-24 year olds) who is wanting to register for a C-Scheme Card, the form asks for basic information such as name, date of birth and postcode, also their relationship and sexual history. The professional registering the person asks relevant safeguarding questions, based on the age and needs. Once this is all completed, the professional provides the person with a C-Scheme Card and an initial supply of condom along lubrication along side information. The person can then use their C-Scheme Card to get free condoms from a range of places, including schools, colleges, pharmacies and sexual health clinics, this allows them to visit the site they feel most comfortable, and increases the likelihood of them accessing condoms when they need to.

Becoming a C-Scheme provider:

There are many benefits to becoming a registered C-Scheme organisation, including:

  • Opportunity to engage with local young people
  • Promote positive health relationships
  • Close links to sexual health service
  • FREE. Condoms, Lubrication, Literature and C-Scheme merchandise are all provided to deliver C-Scheme
