Driving collaboration, developing talent, creating solutions.
As the cyber skills gap persists and cyber threats continue to grow in an ever more threatening world, we know that part of the solution lies within our ability to create talent and solutions through collaboration.
Key Themes:
Protecting Critical National Infrastructure against cyber attacks
We are delighted to welcome two senior level keynote speakers, who are well placed to address this area of growing concern. Keynote speakers from both the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) as well as IBM’s Security Command Centre for Europe will examine the current threats and vulnerabilities in network security and the efforts underway to build resilience into our Critical National Infrastructure (CNI).
Pathways to the development of a cyber talent pipeline
With progress being made on so many fronts and by a wide range of educational and professional organisations to create pathways for cyber talent development, we will be looking at the current situation, discuss some of the best practice and examine ways for companies to invest in their own talent development pipeline. The importance of multi pathways into cyber careers and the need for diversity of recruitment will be key topics of conversation. Leading this conversation will be the Director of the Institute of Coding and Raytheon’s Head of UK Apprenticeships for Cyber Security.
Speakers:
National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC)
A senior speaker from NCSC currently involved in national efforts to improve Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) cyber resilience will be sharing thoughts on this increasingly important topic.
Dr. Saritha Arunkumar, Executive Security Advisor, Master Inventor for IBM Security Command Centre Europe
Dr. Arunkumar will be examining the latest information in threats and vulnerabilities in network security and blockchain.
Professor Rachid Hourizi, Director of Institute of Coding
The Institute of Coding is a leading national consortium of 35 Universities and over 300 employers and outreach organisations that are co-developing new courses to help a larger and more diverse group of learners into digital careers. Professor Hourizi will address: Enabling business through education: Exploring pathways, diversity, needs and options.
Dr. Mark Bailey, Specialist Doctor in Respiratory Medicine and Clinical Informatician with Gloucestershire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
Dr. Bailey is involved in advancing the use of advanced technologies within the NHS and involved in the development of University of Gloucestershire BSc in Health Technology. His talk will focus on the opportunity and challenges technology offers the CNI of the NHS.
Mark has been very interested in all things digital for most of his life. His digital interests filtered into his current healthcare role when he started thinking of ways to streamline daily clinical tasks. He built a desktop app called “Spiritum”. This houses the Gloucestershire sleep, bronchiectasis and tuberculosis services. It automates the transfer of data within the trust, creating standardised clinical letters, retrieves lab and radiology reports, flagging abnormal ones for clinicians to review, etc.
