About this Event
Cabaret Tywyll Weimar
Cyflwynir gan fyfyrwyr Coleg Cerdd a Drama Brenhinol Cymru
Cyngerdd i anrhydeddu twf a dirywiad y mudiad LGBT yng Ngweriniaeth Weimar Berlin, trwy gyfrwng caneuon un o’i arwyr mwyaf talentog, y cyfansoddwr Kurt Weill. Daeth Weill â rhai o’r awduron a’r dramodwyr pwysicaf at ei gilydd i greu ei fersiwn ei hun o Opera: cymysgedd o Jazz a cherddoriaeth Glasurol, Cabaret a theatr epig, i gyflawni nod pwysicaf adloniant llwyfan y cyfnod hwnnw: ‘gwneud i gynulleidfaoedd feddwl’. Gyda’r cyngerdd hwn rydym yn gobeithio eich difyrru, ond hefyd eich addysgu am y mudiad LGBT yn ystod y ddau Ryfel Byd’.
Cynhelir y cabaret yng ngofod arddangos Ystafelloedd yr Artistiaid

Weimar's Dark Cabaret
Presented by students from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
A concert to honour the rise and fall of the LGBT movement in the Weimar Republic Berlin, experienced through songs from one of its most talented protagonists, Composer Kurt Weill. Weill lined up some of the most important writers and dramatists to create his version of Opera: a mix between Jazz and Classic, Cabaret and epic theatre, to achieve the ultimate goal of stage entertainment in that time: ‘make audiences think’. With this concert we hope to entertain you, but also inform you about the LGBT movement during the two World Wars'.
This cabaret will be held in the Artist Rooms exhibition space
