Cabe & The Academy of Urbanism Seminar:
Design & Infrastructure Delivery
The first joint event between The Academy of Urbanism and Cabe provides a great opportunity to come and hear the latest from the experts on a how design helps improve infrastructure projects.
To ensure that the UK’s infrastructure will continue to support economic growth and boost economic efficiency, massive investment in national infrastructure is required. However, large infrastructure projects are often delayed by a prolonged pre-construction process during the design, consultation and planning stages, and are met by strong local opposition. Our event looks at this challenge and provides new ideas how attention to good design can overcome obstacles and anchor the new projects at the heart of the local community.
We’ll hear about the importance of landscape design. Landscape design can provide the right setting for infrastructure, enhance or mitigate its impact. We’ll look at some exciting examples across the UK where design teams and clients work successfully together and create stunning pieces of infrastructure. We’ll also look into the planning side and how decision makers take design into account.
