1-hr workshop with small breaks which will include: Welcome + Intro to flamenco & what’s the concept of ‘Duende’ ‘Duende’ Mask Making session using collage technique Learning of Flamenco movements Duende Catwalk to present your own Duende
As part of the Cabrolé project by Eric Longa Company, we are bringing you a fun Duende mask-making workshop for the whole family! In Flamenco, Duende refers to a deep, almost mystical force of inspiration that goes beyond technical skill. It’s the raw emotion that performers transmit when they sing or dance in Flamenco. Duende means goblin, a magical being, which captures the playful, mysterious spirit we’ll be exploring in this mask-making workshop. The workshop will be facilitated by Sean Murray, Dance Artist, and Patricia Langa, dance artist, choreographer & director of Eric Longa.
We want to share flamenco culture with all ages, and in this workshop you and your family will work creatively together to design your own unique Duende mask. Once we’ve made our masks, we’ll teach you a selection of flamenco dance steps that you can perform while channeling your inner Duende! Come and join us for an hour of creativity, craft, movement, and fun!
