About this event
Join us for an experimental Gong Bath with Cacti
This truly unique event takes place in the beautiful cactus greenhouse of Wolves Lane Centre in Wood Green. Join Ensomble and Nopalera Sessions for a celebration of the plant kingdom whilst lying amidst exotic cacti from around the world! The intention of the event is to offer participants a chance to be immersed in the vibrational fields of the gongs as well as the cacti.
The sound journey will commence with a smoke smudge to clear stagnant energies before we start. Then we will embark on a sound journey with the gongs and many other mesoamerican instruments. Please note that you will be lying on the ground between the plants, so this is not your typical gong bath. Afterwards there will be some time to journal, meet others, and enjoy some nopal cactus tea before leaving.
Want to know more about cacti?
In Mexican folklore and millennial precolombian civilizations, cacti are often depicted as sacred plants with protective and healing properties. The cactus spiritual meaning in these stories is deeply connected to the idea of protection and resilience. It was believed that cacti were inhabited by spirits that could protect their people and their land. These stories highlight the cactus’s role as a guardian and a symbol of strength, teaching us that with resilience and protection, we can overcome any obstacle. The cactus serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of standing strong and protecting what is most important to us, both physically and spiritually. By focusing on a cactus during meditation, you can draw inspiration from its ability to thrive in harsh conditions. This practice helps you cultivate a sense of calm and groundedness, reminding you that, like the cactus, you have the strength to endure life’s challenges.
Never been to a gong bath before?
If you've never been to a sound ceremony or gong bath, here is a little more information: gong baths promote relaxation, reduce stress, and can stimulate altered states of consciousness. Benefits include relief from anxiety, better sleep, released emotional blockages, and improved focus. They also help slow down heart and respiration rates, and increase nitric oxide levels. Entrainment, or synchronizing brainwaves with gong frequencies, can create overall harmony within the body. You will hear sounds from the gongs, as well as other instruments, such as Himalayan singing bowls, flutes, crystal singing bowls, rattles, and chimes amongst others. No two ceremonies are quite the same.
The greenhouse has limited capacity, so early booking recommended.
Testimonials
Helen - Surrounded by the cactus beings of Wolves Lane, I connected to the desert habitat and allowed the vibrations of the gongs to transport and sooth me into other worldly landscapes. I walked on air for the next few days!
Ricky - Just had my first-ever Gong Bath with the incredible Philip, at Ensomble and it was everything I didn’t know I needed. On the eve of the year’s first full moon, I felt transported—physically, mentally, and spiritually. The deep healing for my nervous system brought a peacefulness, clarity of mind, and grounded sense of well-being that I’ll carry forward with so much gratitude. Highly recommend this experience to anyone seeking profound restoration and balance.
Cherice - The full moon gong bath I did with Philip was absolutely wonderful. I had never come across Philip or his work until it popped up on Eventbrite. I felt intuitively guided to go and I’m so glad I did! It was a deeply nourishing and powerful evening that helped me move through some big things I was processing. Philip holds space so beautifully and I highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to experience some deep healing for their nervous system.
Bert - My breath was singing with the gongs. I could breathe and let the sound carry me and let go. As a health worker, stressful situations and environments have an effect on one's body. They have a certain vibration, and that vibration can be changed by listening to the gongs. It just realigns your body into being more relaxed and takes you back to the origin.
