In this special edition CAD TALK, we talk to Sam Tyrer, founder of Mental Health education service Change Talks and Prevention & Engagement Lead for the Lancashire & South Cumbria (NHS) Foundation Trust.
Change Talks offers mental health education to 11-21 year olds. This service has reached over 35,000 young people since the beginning of 2018 and it continues to go from strength to strength.
Delivering education on topics such as anxiety, depression, social media and drug use. We offer a six week programme for high schools, to work with groups of up to 30 pupils to engage in this thought provoking programme.
Change Talks also offer workplace seminars and workshops to give company employees an understanding of the signs for mental health illnesses. 1 in 3 current sick related leave days is directly related to mental health well-being, , we want to deliver talks which enable people to understand and cope with mental health more. Our sessions can be tailored to your needs, including talks on; work place stress, anxiety, coping strategies and negative thoughts.
In this talk we find out more about Change Talks in terms of how others can access this service for their school, college, community group event or business, and why you should, we will also look at if and why Mental Health should be taught in schools and more about their new Train the Trainer model for new facilitators of their service moving into 2021.
