Café Scientifique

The Electric Car Revolution: How will it transform our lives?

Europe and China will abandon patrol/diesel cars by 2040 because electric cars are seen as the enabler to reduce greenhouse gasses. Professor Volker Pickert, Newcastle University and ex Volkswagen Head of Electric Vehicle power drive train development, will explore if this change will only impact on the car industry or whether it will also raise socio-economical, ethical and new environmental concerns which will impact our lives?

The aim is to listen to whether sound offers us a ‘view’ of the unthought world, without impinging on its reality through the shape of our ears.

A podcast of this talk will be available following the event at our You Tube Podcast Channel here

Thank you to Newcastle University for supporting our events and podcasts.
