About this event

This Caithness Experience Advisory Matters Panel (ExMAP) session is co-hosted with Stepping Out Caithness, is all about improving mental health and wellbeing support for LGBTQIA+ people.

The Caithness Experience Matters Advisory Panel (ExMAP) — a panel of people with lived experience, unpaid carers, and supportive family members, working to make services and spaces across Caithness more:

💜 Compassionate · 💚 Respectful · 💛 Inclusive · 💙 Empowering · 🧡 Supportive

We’ll create a safe and welcoming space where lived experience leads the way. Together, we’ll discuss openly the challenges, celebrate our strengths, and co-design practical solutions to make services more inclusive, joined-up, and supportive.

At its heart, the Caithness ExMAP is about belonging: creating a community where everyone’s experiences have a person and a place, and where they belong and matter.

Why Equality Matters

This Caithness ExMAP Equality Matters Session is part of a series of events aimed at ensuring that every voice is heard in shaping mental health and wellbeing within Caithness.

Our purpose is to:

Reach out to voices that are currently underrepresented in the ExMAP

Recognise the additional barriers that equality groups face in Caithnesss accessing support and being heard

Remove common barriers – understanding how they intersect across different equality groups, so we can design solutions that work for everyone

Why come along?

By joining in, you’ll:

✅Add your voice to shape more inclusive mental health and wellbeing services

✅Connect with others who understand and value lived experience

✅Work with services and partners to co-design positive changes

✅Help grow safer, stronger, and more inclusive support for LGBTQIA+ people
