About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours 30 minutes

We are excited to be joined by producer Al Clark (Wellington Films) for a producer roundtable ahead of a special screening of their Netflix supported and BAFTA nominated feature Calibre. Ticket holders are also invited to join the team after the screening for drinks.

Open to writers, directors and producers based in the Midlands, we will be welcoming Nottingham-based Al to talk all things filmmaking and producing. This is your opportunity to ask questions directly to a very experienced producer and learn more about their filmmaking journey as well as look back on a great debut which had success worldwide.

This is a rare chance to learn more about producing a debut feature in person from development and financing a feature as well as working with Netflix on a worldwide release.

Tickets are extremely limited and include access to the roundtable, as well as your cinema ticket for the screening and access to the drinks reception after the film.

If you already have a ticket to the screening or the fee is a barrier to attending, please contact us before booking your place at the roundtable.

We are also able to provide travel bursaries for filmmakers travelling to the event from within the Midlands, please contact us to arrange your travel/ bursary.

For the above or if you have any questions about the event please email: bfinetwork@filmhubmidlands.org

About Calibre

Stephen King described this taut 2018 thriller as “a genuine nail-biter”. Lifelong friends Vaughn Carter (Jack Lowden – Slow Horses) and Marcus Trenton (Martin McCann – Blue Lights) head to an isolated village in the Scottish Highlands for a weekend hunting trip. Nothing could prepare them for what followed. Calibre won the Michael Powell Award for Best British Film, and was nominated for a record-equalling five Scottish BAFTAs, including a clean sweep of the Best Actor category (won by Lowden).
