Event description
Village In The City's June call is with Kay Walter from the Hawley Hamlet in Lincoln Nebraska, where gardening means growth in the community

About this event

We all know that 'growing your community' takes time, effort and hard work. But what happens when the growing relates to a community garden to grow fruit, vegetables and flowers and expands to take up a city block?

Kay Walter from the Hawley Hamlet in Lincoln, Nebraska is our June guest at Village In The City. She will be sharing the story of how the Hawley Hamlet has grown over the past decade from a handful of novices to being not only an engaging and successful neighbourhood community project, but also a place of inspiration, eco-tourism and connection. There are so many potential great outcomes from connecting people to their food, their neighbourhood and each other.

This call is free to join and open to all. It takes place on Wednesday 16 June 2021 at 4pm UK time for about an hour. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions, discuss the ideas and connect with other village-builders from around the world.
