**This Call Back is associated with Initial Training L1. If you have not registered for that initial training, please go back to the original email and click the link for Initial Training L1 to register.
Call Back Events are designed to take place six to eight months after your initial three-day Supervision Training to allow time for you to attend three supervision sessions with your supervisor and to practise the techniques of supervision with a practice supervisee on three occasions prior to being assessed to supervise under the policy (more information below).
**Please be aware that this is a six month long process - if you have a sabbatical in place or indeed a planned leave of absence during the time period between the Initial Training and Call Back, you may want to re-think the dates you are choosing as there is work that happens between those two events.
**It's an important part of your training that you are in supervision to help you unpack what you are learning and practising. At this point every ordained person should be in supervision. If you are not, please contact your District Chair or Keeper of the Supervision Implementation Plan, to request a supervisor. They will be able to find one for you. Similarly if you are attending the training as a lay person please do contact your District Chair for advice.
Following Initial Training/Before Call Back:
1. Each Trainee will need to meet with their supervisor three times before attending the Call Back. We would recommend scheduling these supervision sessions as soon as possible after initial training. If you do not know who your supervisor is, please contact your District Chair as soon as possible. At the third session, you and your supervisor will need to complete the Supervisor Evaluation Form (provided after the initial training event). Your Supervisor should send the completed Supervisor Evaluation Form along with your Self-Evaluation Form (also provided after the initial training event) to supervision@methodistchurch.org.uk at least two weeks prior to the Call Back.
2. Post initial training you will need to show that you have practised the techniques of supervision with a practice supervisee on three occasions. We would recommend scheduling those as soon as possible after training. These practise session should be with someone you are not expecting to later supervise.
3. After you have completed the three sessions with your supervisor and the three sessions with your practice supervisee, you will need to complete and then submit your Course Work Submission Form (provided after the initial training event) at least two weeks before the Call Back Event to supervision@methodistchurch.org.uk . This is a brief document designed to help the training team assess your understanding of supervision as the Methodist Church articulates and seeks to practise it.
We will be in touch nearer the start date with more details.
