Call for storytellers for Beyond Borders 2026: York Climate Narratives
Overview
Beyond Borders returns in 2026. After a successful pilot in 2025 this project returns.
Listen to the stories here. We're now looking to recruit storytellers but crucially a production team to bring this project to life.
We are looking for individuals from the global majority who are directly or indirectly connected to the frontline of the climate and ecological crisis. No prior storytelling experience is needed! Through a series of workshops, we’ll help you craft and share your story with confidence.
Why stories?
Stories are the oldest form of learning. Science gives us the facts, but stories engage our hearts. Tackling the climate crisis isn’t just about CO₂ levels – it’s about lived experiences, resilience, and hope. Stories cut through.
Why York?
York is a vibrant hub of academics, professionals, and communities from across the world. This event will spotlight York-based voices, sharing perspectives that connect global realities with local audiences.
We’re looking for:
- Storytellers – Anyone who wants to share their experience. No need to be “ready”; we’ll run short workshops on storycrafting and storytelling to support you.
- Support team – we are still looking for additional communication
