Callander & Oban Railway Remembered
Arrive at 1 and enjoy a archive film of the line or 'Walk the old line' with John Gilchrist. At 2.30, 3.00 and 3.30 we will have 3 great speakers giving an insight into the line over the years. Our first confirmed Speaker is Sandy Fraser who will regale us with his memories from travelling on the train as a lad. Our second speaker is Bill Young who will talk to us about the early history of the railways. Further speakers will be updated as we confirm. A second archive film will be on from 4-5. If you are coming by train and have a later train home there will be a 3rd optional film to watch at 5. There will be plenty of memorabilia and Community Rail Partnership stalls to explore in between. Refreshments (drinks) will be available for a donation. Sandwiches are kindly being supplied by Crianlarich Hotel (Best Western) whose business has revolved around the railway lines coming into Crianlarich. Cake (including gluten free) is kindly provided by the Real Food Cafe in Tyndrum.
