Prolific singer / songwriter Luzmira Zerpa plays host to a truly unique night of Venezuelan Calypso featuring very special guest musicians from her home country. After spending time at El Callao researching the music, traditions she is now bringing the Ambassadors of the Calypso of El Callao, Venezuela. A powerful mixture of Venezuela percussion, cuatro and all the richness of their voices.

El Callao holds the most important expression of Calypso in Venezuela, its carnival is a UNESCO cultural Heritage since 2016.

Join us on a pre-carnival night Callao style... Puro Callao Calypsó.

Venezuelan photographer and artist Ignacio Crespo will share Visuals of the Carnival at El Callao throughout the night, to transport you to the carnival.

We will end the night with a DJ Session that will keep hot hot hot the dance floor.

Luzmira Zerpa is a Venezuelan singer/songwriter based in UK who has performed internationally as a solo artist and toured extensively throughout Europe with her band Family Atlantica (Soundway Records) and her music that blends traditional, folkloric music from Latin America with world influences, notably Afrobeat, blues and jazz. She's now exploring her roots and the variety of rhythms, chants and instruments from her original Venezuela to create powerful sound.

Ignacio Crespo is a Venezuelan sociologist, film producer and photographer. His work focuses on the city's music scene and street arts. Since 2003, he has documented the Notting Hill Carnival through photography. In 2009, he filmed El Callao's famous carnival — and tonight, that footage will be screened for the first time.
