Event description

Description

Cambrian Strings inaugural concert

The Cambian Summer School for Strings proudly presents its first ever concert. The Suk Serenade is the main work, a lovely rich string serenade enticing the best out of the orchestra by violinist-composer Joseph Suk; through a blend of Dvorak's lyricism, a hint of Bartok's spicy harmony, and Suk's own distinctive rhythmic signature.

Enjoy the fruits of our intensive weekend's work with the professionals from The Tedesca String Quartet, and be serenaded on a summer's Sunday afternoon in the delightful surroundings of Gregynog Hall, with a complimentary cup of tea or coffee and slice of cake afterwards.

Join us for this very special occasion.

Programme includes

Mozart Divertimento in D

Walton Two pieces from Henry V Suite

Suk Serenade for Strings

Nic Fallowfield, conductor

The Cambrian Strings Orchestra, leader Helen Goode.
