Event description

Description

The newest collaboration from Robert Macfarlane and Stanley Donwood, focuses on one small area of land. Orford Ness is a nature reserve, with a ruined military base, on the Norfolk coast, which Macfarlane has described as “a landscape produced by a collision of the human death drive and natural life".

In Donwood's pen and ink drawings, and MacFarlane's prose poetry, 'Ness' is brought to mythical life as 5 'more than human' forces combining their shifting identities to stop 'The Armourer', an ominous Green Knight figure. Part myth, part poem, part landscape, this is a timeless and mysterious text which brings to life the crisis of our Anthropocene age.

Have a read and come along to this informal discusssion. Refreshments provided!
