Cambridge Election Hustings - Inequality, Social Justice, Public Services
Date and time
What can we do to tackle inequality in Cambridge and the UK? What will the parties do to bring greater social justice and well-being?
About this event
We now know that closing income gaps is crucial for reducing social problems, from violent crime, to depression, teenage pregnancy, obesity, social anxiety, myriad health issues and more. If we want to live longer, happier lives and reverse downward social mobility, tackling inequality is vital.
With millions of people trapped in in-work poverty, rising use of food banks, a housing crisis and growing mental health issues among young people, what do the candidates want to change and how? And with Brexit on the horizon, what will their policies do to make Britain fairer, healthier and happier?
The Cambridge Commons is a volunteer collective raising attention of the harm inequality does for all of us and how we can get out of the trap. We are an affiliate of The Equality Trust.
