Event description
Join us for the Cambridge Half Marathon and raise money for our Maggie’s Centre in Cambridge.

About this event

You’ll be joining thousands of people running through the beautiful and historical City Centre before finishing at the Midsummer Common.

Money you raise will help us to provide free support to people with cancer, their family and friends.

Registration fee - £20

Fundraising target - £250 (We ask that you make your best efforts to raise £250 in sponsorship for people with cancer)

How your fundraising will help

£250 can pay for up to 30 families to attend one of our kids’ days, which help children to understand and come to terms with mum or dad having cancer.

£140 can support our exercise classes to help build and maintain strength and confidence whilst living with cancer.

£50 means someone just diagnosed with cancer can receive immediate advice and support from a Cancer Support Specialist.

Organiser Maggie's

Organiser of Cambridge Half Marathon 2021 - Maggie's charity place

Maggie’s provides free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends, following the ideas about cancer care originally laid out by Maggie Keswick Jencks.

Built in the grounds of NHS cancer hospitals, Maggie's centres are places with professional staff on hand to offer the support people need.

Our centres are places to find practical advice about benefits and eating well; places where qualified experts provide emotional support; places to meet other people; places where you can simply sit quietly with a cup of tea.

The first Maggie’s opened in Edinburgh in 1996 and since then Maggie’s has continued to grow, with 26 centres at major NHS cancer hospitals in the UK and abroad.
