Annual Meeting of Minds 2017

Cambridge Infectious Diseases

Interdisciplinary Research Centre

Annually, the University of Cambridge Infectious Diseases Interdisciplinary Research Centre organises a vibrant full-day conference ‘Cambridge Infectious Diseases Annual Meeting of Minds’, with 100 plus attendees and a wide range of topics covered. We are planning to repeat the event in November each year, and this year the meeting is being held on Friday 24 November at Downing College, Cambridge.

Programme

Each year our speakers and Chairs represent the breadth of research being undertaken on infectious diseases across all six schools of the University. Our aim is to provide a platform for researchers from any field interested in infectious diseases to meet, share knowledge, and identify new opportunities to undertake collaborative research.

We are putting together a wide-ranging programme for the day, highlighting areas where working closer together can make an impact in human and animal health. This meeting provides a broad outlook and challenges and inspires us to be better than the sum of our parts. Please join us!

This years programme includes a special session on engineering and clinical diagnostics. Confirmed speakers include Prof. John Clarkson - Engineering, Prof, Lisa Hall - Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, Dr. Julia Kenyan - Medicine, Dr Yorgo Modis - MRC LMB, Prof Ian Goodfellow - Pathology, Dr Charlotte Houldcroft- Archaelogy and Anthropology, Dr Mark Carrington - Biochemistry, Dr Zamin Iqbal The European Bioinformatics Institute, Dr David Aanensen - Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, Chris Hodkinson - VP Business Development, Owlstone Medical Ltd and more. A draft programme will be posted shortly.
