About this event

Science & Tech • High Tech

Cambridge Women in Tech is excited to invite you to our next empowering event on Tuesday 21st October. This evening will focus on how we show up in the workplace—navigating discomfort, influencing with confidence, and tapping into emotions to unlock performance.

We’ll be joined by two inspiring speakers who bring deep expertise, lived experience, and practical tools you can use straight away. Expect stories you’ll connect with, actionable advice, and a warm community to share it all with.

Guest speakers

Lucy Day – Founder, H2H Thinking

Talk: How to move through discomfort and influence with confidence

Lucy founded H2H Thinking to help leaders and teams stay connected and engaged, even during times of uncertainty. With a background spanning IT change teams, Third Sector marketing, leadership, and coaching, Lucy has seen how emotional connection inspires action. Her human-first approach blends behavioural science and communication strategies to help people influence with confidence and create meaningful connections that drive outcomes.

Vikki Pratley – The StressLess Coach

Talk: Harnessing emotions for healthy high performance

Vikki will discuss how understanding and embracing our emotions, rather than ignoring them, can transform performance and communication. Drawing on 'OK Corral' Transactional Analysis, Insights Discovery, and her own experience of workplace burnout, she’ll show why emotions “leak” into behaviour, how that impacts performance, and how to use awareness to your advantage.

A former employment lawyer and founding partner of a boutique law firm, Vikki retrained as a coach after experiencing burnout herself. Today, through her StressLess Academy, she helps organisations remove the hidden costs of stress and build cultures where wellbeing fuels results. Her approach is described by clients as “practical with no judgement,” making change easier to stick to and sustain.
