Parish Councils have a vital role in creating happy, healthy, well-connected communities. How can we, as a Parish Councils, plan for the future and unlock the full potential of our communities?
Many Parish Councils, large and small, are already delivering wonderful work in their communities. Some are taking on additional local services in new and innovative ways. Some are making the most of new opportunities from devolved powers. Others are providing a focal point for organisations to come together to improve community life.
This conference is an opportunity to showcase this brilliant work. It is also a chance to understand how we can all rise to the challenge of becoming a well-run, quality Parish Council and the support that’s available. Department for Communities and Local Government are attending to give insight into the latest national picture.
At the end of the conference, the County Council will be officially launching its new Innovation Fund, initially worth £1 million, and detailing how Parish Councils can apply. This fund aims to support people to do things in their own communities across a range of areas where the County Council currently delivers services, primarily to help people to stay safe, independent and well, and ultimately help make savings for the taxpayer.
We would like to see every Parish Council represented; Councillors and Clerks are equally welcome.
